All file converters & video downloaders

Free online conversion for every format we support. Pick the conversion you need, paste a URL or upload a file, and get a clean output, often within a minute. Files up to 2 GB are virus-scanned, except video and audio over 1 GB, which are delivered unscanned and say so; files are auto-deleted, normally after 2 hours.

How the converters work, and what to expect from them

Everything on this page runs through one pipeline, which is why the behaviour is consistent whether you are pulling a Reel off Instagram or turning a DOCX into a PDF. There are two families here and they solve different problems. The platform downloaders take a public link and give you the file behind it. The format converters take a file you already have and hand it back in a different container.

The guiding rule on quality is to avoid re-encoding whenever the job does not require it. Pulling an MP4 off a platform hands you the stream the platform is already serving rather than a second-generation copy, and asking for the original audio from a video extracts the existing track instead of decoding and re-encoding it. Re-encoding happens only where the output genuinely demands it — MP3 from an Opus source, H.264 from VP9 — because every unnecessary pass costs quality that cannot be recovered.

Files up to 2 GB are virus-scanned on the way through, except video and audio over 1 GB, which are delivered unscanned and say so; files are served over a private link and deleted from the servers automatically, normally after two hours. No file is kept and no account is created; the link you converted stays in the job record for a week, then only its site is kept, as the privacy policy explains. Single files can be up to 2 GB (4 GB signed in), and there are up to 60 conversions an hour on these pages without a Pro pass, signed in or not — set where it is to keep the queue moving for everyone. The optional Pro pass, when offered, raises that and the other limits.

Some things will not work, and it is better to know which before you try. Private posts and login-only accounts serve nothing to any tool that does not hold your password, and nothing here will ask for one. DRM-protected streaming — Netflix, Prime, Disney+ and the rest — is encrypted by design and out of scope entirely. Age-restricted content on most platforms needs a verified session. Those are limits set by the source, not by the pipeline.

On what you download: your own uploads are yours, Creative Commons and public-domain material is free to keep, and personal archiving of publicly posted content is generally uncontroversial. Redistributing someone else's work, or republishing it as your own, is not — and that holds regardless of which tool was used to obtain the file.
