X (Twitter) to MP4 Downloader

X (Twitter) to MP4 pulls a video out of a post and hands you the file: a clip from your own account, or one you have permission to use. The video in your timeline is an adaptive HLS stream rather than a single file, which is exactly why right-click gives you nothing and why every 'save video' browser extension keeps breaking.

This reassembles the stream into one clean MP4 at the highest variant the post was published with, usually 1280×720 and sometimes 1920×1080 for videos uploaded from desktop. Because the source is already H.264 with AAC audio, nothing is re-encoded on the way through — what you get is what X is serving, not a copy of a copy.

The reason to bother is that X is where things vanish fastest. Accounts get locked, and a video that is being quoted everywhere on Monday can be a dead embed by Wednesday. If a clip matters to you — for a piece you are writing, a record you want to keep, a moment you were part of — the version on your own drive is the only one that is safe.

Both x.com and twitter.com links work, and so do links copied from the mobile apps with their tracking parameters attached; those are stripped automatically. Quote posts need the URL of the post that actually contains the video rather than the one quoting it. Public posts only — protected accounts serve nothing without a logged-in follower session, and this tool never asks you to sign in.

If the video is a recorded Space, an interview clip or anything where the picture is two static avatars, take the MP3 option instead. The audio is the whole payload in those cases and the file drops to a fraction of the size, which matters if you are keeping a long archive or listening on mobile data.
