Twitch Clip Downloader

Save Twitch clips and VODs as MP4 files. Twitch VODs expire — after 7 days on most channels, 14 for Affiliates and 60 for Partners — so anything you want to keep or cut into a highlight reel has to come down before it disappears.

What you can download from Twitch

  • Twitch Clips (clips.twitch.tv and the /clip/ URL form)
  • Past Broadcasts and Highlights that are still online
  • Your own VODs, before Twitch deletes them

Twitch to MP4 in practice

Twitch to MP4 saves a clip or a past broadcast before Twitch removes it. This is the platform where downloading is most obviously time-limited: Twitch only stores VODs for a week or two on most channels, and longer only for partners. A stream you meant to come back to routinely just expires.

Paste a clip URL or a VOD link and you get an MP4 at the resolution the broadcast went out in. Clips are short and quick; a full VOD can be several hours and lands as a large file, which is worth knowing before you start one on mobile data.

Highlights and clips behave differently from raw VODs. A clip lives with the channel and survives longer than the broadcast it came from, but it still disappears if the channel is deleted or the clip is removed. Highlights the streamer saved deliberately last longest — but they last exactly as long as the streamer wants them to, which is not a guarantee.

For a just-chatting stream, a co-stream or a music set, the MP3 option is usually what you actually want. Those formats are audio with a webcam attached, and hours of static video is dead weight in a file you are only going to listen to.

Subscriber-only VODs need a logged-in subscription and are not accessible, and this tool never asks for your Twitch credentials. On rights: a clip belongs to the streamer whose channel it came from, not to whoever clipped it. Personal archiving is fine; reuploading someone's stream to another platform is how channels get struck.

How it works

How to download Twitch videos as MP4

  1. Copy the Twitch link

Open the Twitch video on its own page and tap Share → Copy link, so the link points at that one video rather than a feed or profile.

  2. Paste the URL into the converter

Paste the link into the input box on this page. The converter automatically recognises Twitch URLs.

  3. Start the MP4 export

Click Convert. Our cloud worker fetches it from Twitch and packages it as MP4.

  4. Download the MP4 file

When the export finishes you get a download link that works for anyone who has it until the file is deleted. The file is deleted from our servers automatically after 2 hours (longer for very large files or with a pass).

Twitch to MP4 — Frequently asked questions

Twitch keeps past broadcasts 7 days for most channels, 14 for Affiliates and 60 for Partners and Turbo users. Highlights and Clips stay up much longer, until they are deleted. Once a VOD expires it’s deleted from Twitch’s servers, and no tool can bring it back — grab it while it’s still live.
