Privacy Policy
Last updated May 28, 2026
LinksConverter is built to do its job without learning who you are. You do not need an account, an email address, or any personal details to use the converter. This page explains exactly what we do and do not collect.
Files and URLs
When you paste a link or upload a file, it is processed by an isolated worker, scanned for malware, and stored on encrypted object storage only for as long as it takes you to download the result. Every output file is permanently deleted after 2 hours. The download link is one-time and pre-signed, so it cannot be reused once it expires.
We do not read the contents of your files, and request URLs are masked in our server logs. We never sell, rent, or share your files or links with third parties.
What we do collect
- Basic, anonymous request logs (timestamp, rough geographic region, and a masked URL) used to keep the service running and prevent abuse.
- A rate-limit counter tied to your network address so the free tier stays fair for everyone.
- Aggregate counts, such as the total number of successful conversions shown on the homepage.
Advertising
LinksConverter is free and supported by ads. We use Google AdSense to display advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits. You can opt out of personalised advertising any time via Google Ads Settings, and learn about third-party cookies at aboutads.info. Visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland are shown a consent choice before personalised ads are served.
Cookies and analytics
Aside from the advertising cookies above, we use two privacy-conscious analytics tools to understand how the service is used so we can improve it:
- Google Analytics — aggregate traffic such as which pages are popular, rough country, and device type. It sets a first-party analytics cookie, does not identify you personally, and we have enabled Google's email-redaction option so email addresses are never sent.
- Microsoft Clarity — anonymised heatmaps and session replays (clicks, scrolls, and mouse movement) that help us spot confusing parts of the interface. Text you type and sensitive content are masked by default, so replays show layout and interactions, not your personal data.
Your light/dark theme choice is saved in your browser's local storage and never leaves your device.
Third-party services
We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity for the analytics described above, each governed by its provider's privacy policy. If you choose to support us, the donation widget is provided by Ko-fi and is governed by Ko-fi's own privacy policy — we never receive your payment details.
Your choices
Because we do not maintain accounts or store your files beyond the 2-hour window, there is very little personal data to request or delete. If you have a privacy question, contact us at privacy@linksconverter.com.
Changes
We may update this policy as the service evolves. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
