Why most playlist downloaders give you .webm files

YouTube stores its audio as Opus or AAC, not MP3. Tools that only fetch the audio hand you those files as they are, .webm or .m4a, which many car stereos, older players and some phones refuse. Turning each one into an MP3 takes an encoder, which is where desktop tools ask you to install ffmpeg.

Here that step runs on our side: every song is converted to a real MP3 before it goes into the ZIP, and the title and cover are written into the file, so what you unzip plays anywhere.

Which playlist links work

A public or unlisted playlist works: youtube.com/playlist?list=…, a music.youtube.com playlist, or an album. A private playlist, or one only you can see while signed in, cannot be reached from outside; set it to Unlisted and copy the link again.

A Mix (a link with list=RD in it) never ends, so it is cut at its first 10 songs like any long playlist. To save a single song instead, use the YouTube to MP3 page.
